When it comes to movies, people really like comic book movies. The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and The Amazing Spider-Man dominated the nominations in the movie categories for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. But the movies categories weren’t the only place that comic book inspired entertainment proved to be popular.
AMC’s hit TV series The Walking Dead also picked up a couple of nominations. The Walking Dead was nominated for Favorite Cable TV Drama, where it will compete against Burn Notice, Leverage, Pretty Little Liars, and White Collar.
The Walking Dead was also nominated for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, where it will compete against Doctor Who, Once Upon A Time, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries.
Fans can vote online from now through December 14, 2012. The People’s Choice Award 2013 will air live from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 9 PM to 11 PM ET on CBS.

“The Walking Dead” Invades Comic-Con 2012 Source:AMC Blog
The cast and producers of AMC’s breakout hit series The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad will participate in hour-long panels at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, CA. Moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, The Walking Dead panelists will discuss what fans can expect in the highly anticipated third season, which debuts in October. Panelists include Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Denai Guerrero, David Morrisey, Executive Producer and Showrunner Glen Mazzara, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman and Co-Executive Producer and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero.
The Breaking Bad panel, moderated by TV Guide’s Mike Schneider, will cover the series’ success to date and preview its final season which kicks off Sun., Jul. 15 at 10/9c. Breaking Bad panelists include Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Jonathan Banks and Creator and Executive Producer Vince Gilligan
In addition, Kevin Smith will discuss the new season of his unscripted series Comic Book Men for which he serves as Executive Producer, during his annual Comic-Con panel.

Norman Joins Wayne Kramer’s ‘Pawn Shop Chronicles’ Source:Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Director Wayne Kramer has set Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, Elijah Wood, Vincent D’Onofrio, Pell James, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Chi McBride, Ashlee Simpson, Kevin Rankin, DJ Qualls, Michael Cudlitz and Norman Reedus for Pawn Shop Chronicles. Jordan Schur, CEO and co-chairman of Mimran Schur Pictures, revealed the cast just as shooting gets underway in Baton Rouge, La. Kramer previously set Paul Walker in the film. Schur is producing with David Mimran, Walker, Nick Thurlow and Steven Schneider. Adam Minarovich wrote the screenplay. Mimran Schur is financing.
The film is a dark comedy about a man searching for his abducted wife, a couple of white-supremacist meth heads and a sad sack Elvis impersonator all linked through items sold or found in a small Southern town’s local pawn shop.
“This is a superbly written mind-bender of a story that grabs you from the first line, and doesn’t let go,” stated Schur. “We are incredibly fortunate to have found Wayne Kramer to present it, and equally thrilled with the diverse and talented cast assembled.”
The ‘Star Trek’ actress will appear alongside Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez in the follow-up to 2010 action movie ‘Machete’, and Danny Trejo – who is set to reprise his role as blade-wielding Mexican Federale Machete Cortez – can’t wait to kiss all four girls in the film.
He said: ”The sequel to ‘Machete’, ‘Machete Kills’ is going to be a lot more over-the-top than ‘Machete’.
”We’ve got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, and Zoe Saldana – and guess what? I get to kiss all of ‘em.”
Amber Heard is in line to play an assassin in the motion picture, which will see Michelle and Jessica reprise their roles of a taco-truck lady and an immigrations officer, with Robert Rodriguez returning to direct the project.
‘Machete Kills’ – which is scheduled to begin shooting in Texas soon – will see Cortez aim to stop Mel Gibson’s villain from firing a missile.
As well as looking forward to reprising his role in the film, Danny is also hoping to land a part in Robert’s forthcoming ‘Sin City’ sequel.
When asked if he would like to star in ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’, he joked to Moviehole: ”I better, if [Rodriguez] wants to do ‘Machete 3′.
”In fact, you can go ahead and print ‘Robert, let’s get Trejo in ‘Sin City 2.”
